What are Wedding Hair Accessories

There are many options when you come to choose your wedding hair accessories. Some are more obivous such as tiaras. But others you might not have thought of such as hairvines and hair pins.

Each type of accessory has it's own pros and cons and these are influenced by the way you want to wear your hair on your wedding day.

Let take a look at them below.

Tiaras

Wedding tiaras are the traditional hair accessory for your big day and many brides still opt to wear one. They are best suited to brides who are wearing your hair up as most tiaras need something to be pinned into. Often your hair dresser will position your tiara and hide the tiara band with your hair.

The downside to this hair accessory is that you won't be able to wear it again after the big day.

Headbands

Wedding headbands are an excellent choice for a wedding hair accessory for a number of reasons. They can be worn as a headband or as a tiara depending on how you place it within your hair. If wearing as a headband you can wear it with your hair either up or down and they can be slipped on and off easily, usually without disturbing the rest of your hair.

A great benefit to a wedding headband is that they can be worn again after your wedding day.

Hair Pins and Grips

These types of wedding hair accessories allow you a lot of choice over how they are placed and the effect they create. If you want a dramatic look cluster them together. If you prefer something more subtle then scatter them throughout your hair.

The different between a pin and grip is that a pin is open and used to hold large partitions of hair in place such as in a bun or french roll. Grips are closed and can be used to hold wisps of hair or just slid in to the hair for added decoration.

If you want to wear hair pins you will need to wear your hair up.

Wedding Combs

Combs can also be used to decorate your hair on your wedding day, these must be used with your hair up otherwise they won't stay in place. Heavier combs may need additional grips to keep them in place.

More Wedding Hair Accessories

There are more hair accessories to consider such as hairvines which are perfect for beach weddings, brow bands and hair bands, which draw attention to the forehead and veils.

Before choosing your hair accessory it's a good idea to have a rough idea of the hair style you plan to wear it in, this should help you avoid any costly mistakes.

Because the hairstyle is almost as important as the bridal gown, the hair accessory must be well thought of before a choice is made.

Its good the way you described all the different options & how to use them.

Great article.
